Artist Statement
I am a designer based in Philadelphia, PA. I work in jewelry, images, graphics and surface design. Much of my inspiration comes from architecture, building ornamentation and urban landscapes. I also grew up in a family of florists, and had the good fortune of working with my hands, plants and flowers. From this experience, I learned about the importance of color, shape, texture, balance and contrast in all design forms. And of loving what you do.
My design pursuits have included continuing education at Parsons School of Design, the Fashion Institute of Technology, Schoopl of Visual Arts, 92nd Street Y, Maryland Institute College of Art and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I have also studied with master craftspeople, including Tova Botwinick (wax carving) and Janice Gryzb (fine jewelry).
